How much website traffic comes from AI agents?
Not much yet, but it is growing fast. HUMAN Security found that traffic from AI agents and agentic browsers grew 7,851% year over year from a low base, and made up about 1.7% of AI-driven traffic by December 2025. Your own share depends on your audience; your analytics can show AI referrals, but not the agents that gave up.
The published figures
- Traffic from AI agents and agentic browsers grew 7,851% year over year, from a low base. By December 2025 that agentic category was about 1.7% of AI-driven traffic. (HUMAN Security, 2026)
- On June 3, 2026, Cloudflare's CEO wrote that bot traffic had passed human traffic online for the first time. (Reported by WorkOS, June 18, 2026)
- Gartner expects AI agents to handle 90% of B2B purchases within three years, routing more than $15 trillion by 2028. This is a forecast. (Reported by Digital Commerce 360, November 28, 2025)
Why your analytics undercount it
Many agents don't run your analytics script, some are filtered out as bots, and the ones your bot rules block never show up at all. You see the AI referrals that arrived, not the agents that tried and left.
What to do with a small number
A small share today is a reason to get ready, not to wait. Fixing what stops agents now costs less than finding out after they have learned to skip you.
